Job Title:        Senior Survey Officer
Name of Company:        Antiquities and Monument Office, Leisure and Cultural Services Department
Job Description:        (a) To assist Land Surveyor in the management and supervision of the 3D Laser Scanning Survey Unit (the Unit); to act as a team leader and technical adviser of Survey Officers and Chainmen on 3D laser scanning survey works for monuments, historic buildings and structures; to provide technical support on job design; and to liaise with other government officers, contractors, suppliers, vendors and owners in executing the survey projects. (b) To handle general administration matters (such as transport, stores, office records) and personnel and discipline matters (such as supervising and maintaining discipline amongst survey staff, advising and counseling of survey staff as well as monitoring of performance and survey outputs) of the Unit. (c) To act as equipment manager by overseeing the control, usage, repair, maintenance and calibration of survey equipment according to quality specifications and identifying requirements of survey equipment, if necessary. (d) To check works done by the Survey Team comprising of Survey Officers and Chainmen; to monitor the completeness, relevance, accuracy, standard and time-frame of all survey functions performed by the Survey Team; to assist Land Surveyor in the planning and execution of survey work; and to give technical advice to survey staff to ensure a high survey standard. (e) To act as system administrator of computing systems, such as overseeing and operating computer systems and application software, ensuring that computation folder system and office records are maintained properly; keeping all survey record data in good order and traceable etc.. (f) To supervise and maintain discipline amongst survey staff by ensuring that they act in compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines; and to participate in planning and coordinating the training requirements of survey staff.
Requirements:         Applicants should have: (a) a Higher Diploma in Geomatics or a Diploma or Higher Certificate in Land Surveying and Cartography from a Hong Kong polytechnic university / polytechnic / Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education / technical college / technical institute, or equivalent; (b) four-years post-qualification full-time relevant experience; and (c) met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2 [Notes (1)] or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
